Subject name was lost, however an Email received from Salt Contemporary Art, Queenslcliff, Australia on 7th May, 2024 states Ben Shearer has acknowledged the art and suggests it was named ‘Tracks to the Ranges’.
We are delighted to be able to offer this original work in Watercolour by Ben Shearer.

The original glazed frame has been removed due to a break in the glass.
The work is however supplied fixed to its cardboard mount

Ben Shearer (Australian 1941-) Bio

Following studies in Australia and Scotland, Ben Shearer worked as a textiles designer before developing a reputation as one of Australia's most successful textile artists. His heavily textured wall hangings and tapestries are featured in collections around Australia and the world. Shearer started painting in the watercolour medium towards the end of the 1970's and has rapidly established himself as one of Australia's leading contemporary artists. He has exhibited widely in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and London.

Ben Shearer's work is part of the collections of the Melbourne Hilton Okinawa Hilton, Japan New Zealand Wool Corporation University of Melbourne Australian Radiation Centre Sheraton Hotel, Hong Kong Australian National University National Gallery of Australia AMP Society Pacific Dunlop Jetset Powercor Australia Artbank The Art Trust and the Toronto Dominion Bank. He is also represented in numerous private collections in Australia, United Kingdom, USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Europe.

Ben Shearer is particularly well-known for his watercolours of the Australian landscape, in all its harsh variety. He has travelled extensively around the continent, developing an empathy with the landscape, from the bush of southern Australia, through the highlands, to the outback wilderness and watery beauty of Kakadu. His work explores the vastness and yet subtlety of the continent, as well as its unique light
