Very unusual early 19th.c. mahogany framed robing mirror on stand, probably continental c.1830. 29″ x 40″ mirror plate within a superb flame mahogany veneered frame. Topped with a very unusual palmate or anthemion carved frieze, echoed in the corner detail (missing in the lower left corner). Note also the carved detail to the inner edge of the frame. Short twist carved column, joined with pierced supports, raised on four shaped legs with a turned finial below. Excellent condition, fitted with a new mirror, with particularly good colour and patina.
