An attractive silver plated caviar dish. This lovely example has a deep base to hold crushed ice, an internal tray for holding the caviar and a domed lid. Apart from use as a chilled serving dish, the reservoir can also be filled with boiling water for use as a warming dish.
This attractive dish has a pierced edge to the base and is as practical as it is decorative. Often mistaken for muffin dishes, the smaller dimensions of these particular pieces, preclude such use.
