This is a genuine antique map of Sussex dating from circa 1765 which has been hand-coloured and attractively framed within gilt wood moulding.

It was removed from Kitchin's English Atlas: or, a compleat set of maps of all the counties of England and Wales ...... The whole engraved ..... from drawings of actual surveys and other best authorities, published by J Dodsley.

Dimensions:

Plate impression: 25.5 x 20 cm (10" x 7 3/4")

Frame: 38.5 x 33.5 cm (15 1/4" x 13 1/4")

Condition: Excellent condition. The map is clean with bright colours. There are no tears or repairs. Without taking it out of the frame the only defect we were able to detect was two tiny wormholes in the bottom right. The gilt wood frame and pale beige coloured mount are both in very good condition. This is a guaranteed genuine 18th Century map.
