Art Deco 9ct Gold Cuff Links, Owen Powell, 1931
Here we have a superb set of Art Deco 9ct Rose Gold Cuff Links. The chain linked cuff links are oval with engine turned stripes and a sunburst design. They come supplied in a modern gift box.
The cuff links were made in Birmingham by Owen Powell and date to 1931, the height of the Art Deco era. Owen Powell was an accomplished goldsmith operating in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in the 1920s and 1930s. He is best known for his fine quality cuff links, often in distinctive Art Deco designs but also produced other items of jewellery for both men and women.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents, no damage to the chain links and just the minimal superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each oval is 1.9cm by 1cm and each pair extends 2.4cm. The set weighs in at 6.0g of solid 9ct rose gold.
The hallmarks, on the back of the cuff links, are well struck and clear to read. They show the 9 and .375 marks for 9ct gold, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter G for 1931 and the O P in a diamond makers' mark for Owen Powell.
Shipping in the UK is £11 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the cuff links.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
