Absolutely stunning Antique French Giltwood Wall Mirror / Overmantel, dating from 1870.
A very versatile mirror, could be hung either landscape or portrait, or even floor standing, as it's over 5 feet tall.
This fine example is in untouched original condition, the gold leaf water-gilding is in excellent overall condition.
Original mercury silvered mirror plate has a wonderfully atmospheric look, with attractive overall foxing and a nice mellow reflection.
Original backing boards.
Sizes 156 cm X 125.5 cm.
