Mid-Century Silver Napkin Ring, Broadway & Co 1968
This is a simple but elegant Mid-Century Sterling Silver Napkin Ring. The ring is circular with beaded rims to top and bottom. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind, making this ideal as a gift.
The napkin ring was made in Birmingham by silversmiths Broadway & Co and dates to 1968. Broadway & Co was founded by William Benjamin Broadway in Birmingham in 1901. The firm quickly established a reputation for good quality workmanship and produced a wide range of silverware for personal and domestic use. The company, now called Broadway Silversmiths, remains under the control of the Broadway family to this day and still uses many of the original dies and tools from the early years of the company.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents and just the minimal superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The napkin ring is 4.4cm / 1.7ins in diameter and 1.3cm / 0.51ins deep. It weighs in at a respectable 10.4g / 0.37oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the outside of the body, are well struck and clear to read. The show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter T for 1968 and the B & Co in an oval makers' mark for Broadway & Co.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
