Mintons New Stone plate or tazza circa 1860.
A Minton New Stone tazza or plate.
A very attractive plate or tazza made by the Minton factory of Stoke on Trent where it was one of the leading manufacturers of ceramics during the Victorian era. The pattern which radiates from the centre of the top is enhanced by the green glaze which has deepened where it has pooled in the ridges of the design. The basket work design around the top is also around the base.
On the bottom is impressed "BB New Stone" which is one of the marks used by Minton.
There is also a design registration lozenge which gives the date of the 12th April 1860.
The diameter of the top is 9.25 inches or 24 centimeters. It stands at almost 2.5 inches or 6 centimeters high.
The condition is very good, with no chips or cracks.
UK post and packaging costs £10.00.
