Unusual Victorian Art Nouveau Copper Mirror Victorian arts and crafts art nouveau
We have for sale a very unusual Victorian art nouveau copper wall mirror.

The mirror is of a spade shape surrounded by a copper mount based on a hexagonal shape extending to five symmetrically arranged scrolls of copper, two to each side and one in an apical position along with a sixth extension of the copper mount forming a basal section decorated in repousse with a scrolling fern-like design. The mount around the mirror is further decorated with 4 panels containing the the same scrolling fern-like repousse design.

The mirror and frame together is 16.5 inches (41.9cm) high and 15.75 inches (40cm) wide. The mirror itself is in an original aged condition with some losses to the silvering, and the mount is in a very good antique condition. However, two of the copper rivets towards the top of the mirror holding the back in place have at some point been replaced by two steel split pins.
