A wonderful set of liquid measures in their original leather case.
There are 5 boxwood rods which screw together to a length of 50 inches. The joining mechanism is made of brass and all joins are a tight fit. On one end of the assembled rod is a brass handle (or knob) and on the other is a steel and brass ferrule. The rods are marked "Imp Gallons" with the makers name of WR Loftus Ltd. london, a well known and respected manufacturer of measuring equipment.
Also in the case is the original calculators Ruler. This has several numbered guages that my knowledge and O level mathematics does not enable me to decipher. This rule is also made of boxwood and made by Dring & Fage of Tooley Street, London. Dring & Fage are probably the leading manufacturer of measurement equipment, and certainly the quality and precision of this rule is top drawer.
The original leather case has a lovely colour and patina and is in good condition for jts age and use. The only blemish is a crack to the internal leather where it has been regularly opened and shut.

It measures 11 inches long and 3.5 inches wide with a depth of 1 inch.
