This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with modern loose & pressed / solid face powders of as a handbag mirror.
The super enamel set with the original accessories. Neither of the accessories have ever been used & they are in superb condition. The enamel decorations are beautiful, stylish & are like they day they were made. The red background enamel such a pretty contrast to the blue, gold, white & multi-coloured birds of paradise. The detailed enamel work has gilt accents. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirrors of both the 'Queen Convertible' compact & 'Lip View' are excellent & give clear accurate reflections. The brass is protected with a coat of lacquer & so this set will never need to be cleaned. The compact comes with the original Stratton silk (foam puff), inspection docket & sifter. The base of the compact is decorated with fine vertical lines & tiny chevrons.
The "Lipview" has the original dummy lipstick tube.
The original box is in good condition. The interior lid is signed "Stratton" and it is lined with pale yellow satin.
This lipstick mirror can be altered to fit any size of lipstick.
The vintage compact measures 3 1/4" & weighs 101.6 grams.
The vintage lipstick mirror / holder measures 2 1/2" & weighs 22.2 grams.
