This is a colourful vintage decorative jug. A German, ceramic lava pattern serving ewer or vase, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.

Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Mottled ceramic ground in cream and dark chocolate
The shock of bright orange to the decorative band contrasts with a distinctive lava finish
Bold demi-lune handle meets the distinctive ribbed neck
Accentuated to the circumference with lozenge patterns
Marks to base read 'W. Germany' and a serial number of 439-39
