Late 19th.c. French trumeau overmantle mirror or pier glass c.1880. Just 25″ wide with a long hand painted top panel in oil on canvas over a small mirror below. In a very unusual scene set in a dreamlike Classical landscape, a young lady in period dress leaves behind her earthly treasures as she is called heavenwards by a winged angel. Slim moulded and gilded wooden frame with applied decoration. Some minor damage to the frame, otherwise very good condition.
Dimensions: width 25″, depth 2″, height 51″.
