Minton Porcelain Recumbent Pug On Cushion c1831-40
A very sweet Minton porcelain pug lying on a tasselled cushion, c.1831-1840. White glazed with a blue enamel collar and fine details to the face, gilt accents to the collar an cushion trim and tassels.
Provenance: Dennis G. Rice collection and illustrated in Dogs In English Porcelain Of The 19th Century, Dennis G. Rice, colour plate 34.
It measures 10.8cm (4 1/4") long, 6.4cm (2 1/2") wide and 6.1cm (2 3/8") high.
Condition very good. There is some professional restoration to the tail and touched up into the rump and a couple of tiny nicks in the glaze at the base of the cushion. Some minor handling wear to the gilt in places. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
